Winter Park Resorts consists of four adjacent mountains: Winter Park, Mary Jane, (including Parsenn Bowl), Vasquez Cirque, and Vasquez Ridge-making it one of the largest ski resorts in Colorado. The four distinct sections of the mountain are interconnected by a network of trails and lifts. Winter Park Resort is the oldest continually operated resort in Colorado and is ranked #9 in the nation by SKI magazine.
Total skiable acreage is 2,770 acres which includes 134 designated trails and 715 acres of off-piste terrain. Twenty-four lifts including eight high-speed express quads, four triples, seven double chairlifts, two surface lifts and three Magic Carpets provide an uphill capacity of 36,000 riders per hour.
Winter Park offers a natural progression for freeriders of all levels with three terrain parks. Small features and rails in Discovery Park are designed for beginners. Kendrick Terrain Park is a step up for intermediates and Rail Yard is geared toward advanced riders. The Superpipe, located on the face of Allan Phipps, is 450-feet long and has 18-foot walls. In the early 1900s when the Moffat Tunnel was completed through the Rockies, Front Range locals began to ride the train to Winter Park. The shacks built for the tunnel construction crews made perfect warming huts for hardy skiers who climbed the mountains and cruised down on long boards.
